Purpose
In carrying out its mission, the Association shall, among other things:
1. Pursue policies that seek to improve the perception, reputation, and standing of the industry before government and the general public.
2. Develop programs that enhance the overall well being of the industry, not the specific competitive or economic interests of individual members.
3. Promote educational activities and the interchange of ideas among its members and the public generally.
4. Promote the improvement of products, the elimination of wasteful methods of manufacture, and foster manufacturing procedures and practices that minimize pollution of the environment as a service to the industry and the public as a whole.
5. Cooperate with other organizations, public and private, to accomplish these objectives.
Membership
Membership in this Association shall consist of individuals, companies, firms or corporations who are manufacturers or suppliers in the following industries: Paints, varnishes, lacquers, industrial and architectural coatings, printing inks, caulks, thinners, sundries, etc.
Classes of Membership:
1. Manufacturer: Those involved in the manufacture of the above products.
2. Distributor: Those involved in the resell of materials and/or equipment used in connection with the manufacture of the above products.
3. Supplier: Those involved in the manufacture of materials and/or equipment used in the connection with the manufacture of above products.
4. Educator/Student: Those individuals involved in chemistry, engineering, physics, or related science.
5. Retired: Those individuals who has severed his connection with his employer due to age or disability.
6. Honorary: Any member who has rendered signal service to the local association.
Dues
The fiscal year for this organization shall commence June 1st and end May 31st. Dues statements are sent out August of each year.
Membership Dues schedules are as follows:
Manufacturer, Distributor, Supplier, Educator/Student is $50.00 annual per organization. Member companies are allowed to list as many employees on the OPCA membership roster as deemed necessary.
Retired or Honorary membership is at no cost to individual.
Officers
The officers of the Association will consist of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each office is a one-year term, nominations are held at the April meeting and elections during the May meeting.
Expenses, budget and finances of officers are approved by a majority vote of officers. The association will send and cover the expenses of the Association president, or his designate, to the Annual NPCA meeting.
Code of Ethics
We, the members of National Paint & Coatings Association, Inc., fully recognizing our professional responsibilities, do hereby pledge ourselves to compete always with fairness and honesty, and to refrain from false, derogatory references to competitors or their products.
We pledge to represent our products truthfully in advertising and labeling, avoiding all false and misleading statements about our own products or those of our competitors.
We pledge not to circulate false rumors regarding our competitors' products or their personal or financial reputations, and to strive in all lawful ways to increase the efficiency and service to the public by the industry as a whole.
